About this course

International Hospitality and Tourism Management is a discipline that addresses two of the world's most significant industries, both in terms of their economic scale and their social and cultural reach. Hospitality encompasses the management of hotels, resorts, restaurants, events, and related services, while tourism examines the movement of people for leisure, business, and cultural purposes, the destinations that receive them, and the management of the experiences they seek. Together these fields require practitioners who understand both the commercial logic of service businesses and the broader social, environmental, and cultural contexts in which they operate.

At Arden University, this four-year, full-time programme includes a foundation year that builds the academic and professional foundations you will need before advancing into the degree-level content. This makes the programme accessible to students who would benefit from additional preparation before entering a demanding management curriculum. You will develop knowledge of the strategic, operational, and financial dimensions of hospitality and tourism businesses, alongside an understanding of the international character of these industries.

The programme offers a structured placement module that allows you to apply your learning in a real-world hospitality or tourism environment, with the experience academically supervised and assessed, contributing directly to your degree and enhancing your employability.

Graduates are well placed for management roles across international hotel groups, tour operators, destination management organisations, event companies, airlines, and the wider travel industry. The combination of operational knowledge, management understanding, and international perspective that this degree develops opens routes into general management, marketing, operations, revenue management, and business development within these sectors. For those wishing to study further, postgraduate programmes in hospitality management, tourism, events, and international business are all natural options.
