About this course

International hospitality and tourism management is concerned with the strategic leadership and operational management of one of the world's largest and most geographically dispersed industries. From global hotel chains and airline groups to local tour operators and destination marketing organisations, the sector is enormous, economically significant, and deeply shaped by cultural difference, seasonal variation, and shifting consumer expectations. Managing within it requires both business acumen and the cross-cultural intelligence that comes from genuine international experience.

At Coventry University, this part-time programme allows you to study at a pace suited to other commitments while developing the key competencies of hospitality and tourism management alongside the broader business understanding that the industry demands. The programme includes a sandwich year, a year abroad, and a work placement, providing an exceptional range of professional and international experience even within a part-time structure. You will study revenue management, marketing, guest experience design, sustainability in tourism, financial management, and the strategic dynamics of international hospitality businesses, always with attention to the wider business environment in which the industry operates.

The part-time route is particularly well suited to students who are already working in hospitality or tourism and wish to develop their management skills and qualifications without stepping away from employment entirely.

Graduates work in hotel management, resort and destination management, tourism marketing, event management, airline management, and consultancy roles across the UK and internationally. The degree also provides a foundation for postgraduate study in hospitality, tourism, or business management.
