About this course

International business management with study abroad is a degree that combines rigorous management education with an immersive international experience, preparing graduates to work effectively in the multinational and cross-cultural environments that define contemporary business. The ability to understand how organisations operate across different national contexts, manage culturally diverse teams, navigate unfamiliar regulatory environments and build relationships across language and cultural boundaries is increasingly valued as businesses operate in more globalised and interconnected markets.

At the University of Bristol this four-year programme includes a year spent studying at one of Bristol's partner universities overseas, fully conducted in English. You will develop your understanding of international business strategy, finance, marketing, operations, organisational behaviour and the macroeconomic and political contexts in which international firms operate. The year abroad is not supplementary but central to the programme, giving you first-hand experience of living and studying in another country and engaging with different academic traditions and professional cultures.

Bristol's research-active business school and its strong connections to UK and international business provide a stimulating intellectual and professional environment.

Graduates are well placed for careers in multinational corporations, international consultancies, global financial services, management trainee programmes with major UK and international employers, export management, international development organisations and government departments with international portfolios. The combination of management depth and genuine international experience makes graduates particularly competitive in roles where operating across borders is central to the work. Many graduates go on to postgraduate study in business, management, international relations or related fields, and the year abroad experience is a consistent strength in both job applications and graduate school admissions.
