About this course

International business management is concerned with how organisations operate and grow across national borders, navigating the opportunities and complexities of global markets, diverse regulatory environments, cultural differences, and international competition. It draws on strategy, marketing, finance, organisational behaviour, and international relations to develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage effectively in a world where most significant businesses operate on a global or at least multi-national basis.

At Coventry University, this three-year, full-time programme develops your understanding of how international businesses function and expand, with a particular focus on strategy, marketing, and cross-cultural management. A sandwich year is built into the programme, giving you a full year of professional experience in a relevant business or organisation before you graduate. A year abroad option and work placement opportunities are also available, giving you direct exposure to business practice in different national and cultural contexts, which is particularly valuable in a field where cross-cultural competence is a genuine differentiator.

Coventry's strong international student community and extensive global partnerships enrich the learning environment, providing exposure to different national perspectives on business and management throughout your studies. Graduates go on to careers in international marketing, business development, operations management, consultancy, supply chain management, trade and export, and general management in organisations of all sizes operating across international markets. Many pursue postgraduate study in international business, management, or MBA programmes, and some continue to professional qualifications in areas such as project management or supply chain management.

The combination of commercial awareness, cultural sensitivity, and strategic thinking the degree develops is valued by employers across every sector with international activities.
