About this course

Information technology management for business addresses one of the central challenges of modern organisations: how to align technology strategy with commercial goals. Every business today depends on digital systems, data infrastructure, and software tools, yet managing these effectively requires people who understand both the technical landscape and the strategic, operational, and human dimensions of organisations. This discipline sits deliberately at that crossroads, producing graduates who can communicate across the divide between IT teams and business leadership.

This four-year, full-time programme includes a foundation year that builds the academic and technical foundations you need before entering the main degree content. Across the programme you will study areas including information systems, project management, cybersecurity, data analysis, business strategy, and digital transformation. You will develop an understanding of how technology investments are evaluated and governed, how IT projects are planned and delivered, and how emerging technologies create new business models and risks.

Alongside your degree, the programme offers the opportunity to work towards industry-recognised certifications that strengthen your professional credentials and signal practical competence to employers.

Graduates are well placed to enter roles such as IT project manager, business analyst, systems consultant, technology strategist, and IT manager across a wide range of sectors including finance, healthcare, government, retail, and technology companies themselves. The combination of business acumen and technical understanding makes graduates genuinely versatile, capable of moving between analytical, managerial, and advisory roles as careers develop. Further study at postgraduate level in information management, business administration, or digital strategy is a natural extension for those who wish to deepen their expertise.
