As organisations face pressures from globalisation, technological disruption and shifting expectations around work, the HR function has moved from a largely administrative role to a genuinely strategic one, and those who can operate at that strategic level are in demand across every sector.

At Anglia Ruskin, this three-year full-time programme develops your knowledge of organisational types, objectives and managerial approaches alongside a thorough grounding in the theory and practice of HRM. You will engage with the legal context in which HR professionals work, covering employment law, equality legislation and the regulatory frameworks that govern the employment relationship. You will also develop your understanding of the strategic dimensions of HR, learning how workforce strategy connects to organisational performance and competitive positioning.

The course develops the interpersonal and analytical skills that are central to HR practice, preparing you to work constructively with people at all levels of an organisation.

Graduates move into HR roles across the public and private sectors. HR officer, HR business partner, recruitment specialist, learning and development coordinator, employee relations adviser and people analytics roles are all common destinations. Many organisations value the CIPD qualification alongside a degree, and some graduates pursue chartership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Postgraduate study in HRM, employment relations or organisational behaviour is a well-supported option for those who want to develop their expertise further.
