About this course

Hospitality business management combines the dynamic and people-centred world of hospitality with the commercial and strategic tools of business management. The hospitality industry is one of the world's largest, encompassing hotels, restaurants, events, cruise lines, and visitor attractions, and managing within it requires both deep understanding of the guest experience and the operational, financial, and leadership skills that any complex service business demands. It is an industry where personal service and commercial rigour are inseparably connected.

At Leeds Beckett, this programme is developed in partnership with the Leeds Hotels and Venues Association, ensuring that the curriculum reflects the real needs of the industry and that you have access to professional networks from the outset. You will learn how to lead, innovate, and make an impact in one of the world's most dynamic industries, studying operational management, revenue management, marketing, finance, leadership, and sustainability alongside the specific knowledge of hospitality contexts. The programme is offered part-time, with a sandwich placement year, a year abroad, and embedded work placement opportunities, giving you substantial professional and international experience.

Graduates of hospitality business management programmes pursue careers in hotel and resort management, food and beverage operations, events management, tourism management, and hospitality consultancy, as well as broader business and management roles where the combination of operational experience and commercial training is valued. Many graduates build careers in global hotel groups, independent properties, and hospitality businesses of all scales, and some go on to postgraduate study in hospitality management or business to develop their expertise further.
