At Leeds Beckett this three-year full-time programme engages directly with the questions that make history urgent in the contemporary world. You will explore how revolution, resistance, empire, protest, inequality, the climate crisis, migration, and the media have shaped the world around us, examining the deep roots of issues that dominate public debate today. The programme takes modern history seriously as both an academic discipline and a civic resource, building your understanding of why the past matters and how historical thinking can illuminate the present.

A year abroad is embedded in the programme, giving you the opportunity to study history at an international institution and experience how different national traditions approach the discipline.
