Geography with Year Abroad

Geography explores the relationships between people and places, asking how physical processes shape the world we inhabit and how human societies in turn transform natural environments, distribute resources, and organise space. At the University of East Anglia, this four-year programme incorporates a year abroad, allowing you to study geography in a different national and environmental context, which enriches your understanding of the discipline by exposing you to different academic traditions, landscapes, and human geographies. Over the course of your studies you will engage with both human and physical geography, exploring topics such as urban change, global development, climate science, geomorphology, environmental justice, and political ecology. You will develop skills in fieldwork, geographical information systems, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and written communication, building a toolkit that is applicable across a wide range of professional and academic contexts.

UEA is located in Norwich, close to distinctive natural environments including the Norfolk Broads and the North Sea coast, which support fieldwork opportunities close to the university.
