French and Swedish

French and Swedish is an unusual and rewarding combination that spans two of Europe's most significant cultural traditions. At University College London, this four-year full-time programme is taught within one of the UK's strongest language departments, combining specialist expertise in French studies with Scandinavian studies. UCL's Scandinavian section is one of very few in the UK with the depth to support serious undergraduate study of Swedish at degree level, making this combination genuinely rare and distinctive in British higher education. You will develop high-level proficiency in both French and Swedish across speaking, reading, writing and listening, engaging with the literature, culture, history and contemporary society of both language communities.
