French and Geography

French and geography is a combination that connects genuine linguistic and cultural expertise with the analytical rigour of an earth and human science. At the University of Aberdeen you will study French and geography over five years of full-time study, with a period of study at a French university built into the programme. This international study period is a significant element: it allows you to examine geography in a French context, engage with French-language scholarship in the discipline, and develop the genuine linguistic fluency that professional use of French requires. You will develop skills in geographical fieldwork, spatial analysis, environmental science and the quantitative and qualitative methods geographers use, alongside the language and cultural knowledge of the French strand.
