About this course

Finance and Business Analytics is a degree that connects the strategic and technical dimensions of financial management with the data-driven analytical capabilities that are transforming how organisations make decisions. Finance provides the theoretical framework for understanding how capital markets work, how businesses are valued, how investment decisions are made and how financial risk is measured and managed. Business analytics adds the quantitative and computational tools needed to extract meaningful insights from large and complex datasets, using statistical modelling, data visualisation, machine learning and programming to turn raw data into actionable intelligence.

At the University of Bradford, this four-year full-time programme includes an optional foundation year that provides a supported entry route into degree-level study. The programme emphasises data analytics as foundational in modern business management, with curriculum design reflecting the growing reality that data and analytics underpin decision-making across virtually every area of finance and business. You will develop both the financial knowledge to understand the commercial context of analytical work and the technical skills to design and implement analytical solutions to real business problems.

Finance and Business Analytics graduates are in strong demand across financial services, banking, insurance, consulting, technology, retail, the public sector and any organisation where financial and business data are used to drive decisions. Roles as financial analyst, business intelligence analyst, data scientist in financial contexts, risk analyst and management consultant are all natural destinations. Many graduates go on to professional qualifications in finance, data analytics or related areas, and postgraduate study in financial technology, business analytics, finance or data science provides a route to specialist and senior roles.
