About this course

Electronic engineering with mobile and secure systems combines the core discipline of electronics with a specialist focus on two of the most significant contemporary applications of engineering expertise: wireless communications technology and digital security. Electronic engineering addresses the design and analysis of circuits, signal processing, communications systems, and embedded devices, applying physics and mathematics to the creation of the hardware that underpins modern technology. Mobile systems engineering concerns the design of wireless communications networks and the devices that connect to them.

Security engineering adds the study of how systems are made resistant to attack and how vulnerabilities are identified and addressed.

At the University of Southampton, this four-year, full-time degree is offered by one of the UK's leading engineering universities, with world-class research in electronics and communications. Southampton's Electronic and Electrical Engineering department has a distinguished reputation, and you will have access to excellent facilities and academics whose research directly informs the curriculum.
