About this course

Electronic and electrical engineering sits at the core of modern life, enabling everything from the power systems that supply electricity to homes and businesses to the communications infrastructure that connects the world, the smart devices that populate everyday life, and the digital systems that underlie almost every sector of the economy. Adding business studies to an engineering degree creates a powerful combination: the technical depth of an engineering education alongside the commercial awareness and management capability that engineers increasingly need to lead projects, work in professional organisations, and create or develop technology businesses.

At the University of Strathclyde, this five-year full-time programme develops comprehensive expertise in electronic and electrical engineering across areas including renewable energy, smart grids, high-speed communications, digital signal processing, power electronics, control systems, and cybersecurity, as the current course description reflects. These are areas in which sustained investment and innovation are taking place globally, and engineers with expertise in them are in strong demand.
