About this course

Electronic and electrical engineering is the discipline that designs and develops the systems that generate, transmit, process, and use electrical energy and signals. It underpins power grids and renewable energy infrastructure, telecommunications and wireless networks, control systems, consumer electronics, medical devices, and the semiconductor technologies that make modern computing possible. Engineers in this field work at both the level of fundamental circuits and at the level of complex integrated systems.

At the University of Huddersfield this four-year full-time programme includes a sandwich year with a work placement, giving you a full year of professional engineering experience before you complete your degree. You will study electrical circuits, electronics, signal processing, power systems, control engineering, digital systems, and electromagnetic theory, developing the mathematical rigour and practical skills that are central to professional engineering practice. Laboratory work and project-based learning are central to the programme, and you will use industry-standard tools and equipment throughout.
