About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering is the discipline that powers the modern world. From the generation and distribution of electricity through to the microchips inside smartphones, the control systems of aircraft, and the algorithms running in intelligent machines, electrical and electronic engineers design, build, and maintain the systems that make contemporary life possible. The field spans from high-voltage power engineering and sustainable energy systems to signal processing, communications, and machine learning, giving graduates the tools to address some of the most consequential technical challenges of the coming decades.

At the University of Southampton, this four-year full-time degree, which includes a foundation year, draws on the expertise of researchers working at the frontier of the discipline.
