About this course

Electrical and electronic engineering at master's level brings together the physical sciences of electricity and electromagnetism with the engineering disciplines that apply them to design the systems on which modern life depends. The field spans power generation, distribution and conversion, analogue and digital electronics, communications systems, control engineering, embedded computing and the integration of electronics into everything from consumer devices to industrial automation and energy infrastructure. An undergraduate master's programme provides greater depth than a standard bachelor's degree, preparing graduates for more specialist and research-oriented roles from the outset.

At Queen's University of Belfast the four-year full-time programme covers a wide spectrum of the discipline, from microelectronic chip design and manufacturing at one end to power generation and distribution at the other, alongside telecommunications, control systems and signal processing.
