At the University of Liverpool, this four-year, full-time programme begins with a foundation year at Carmel College in St Helens, a short distance from the university, where small class sizes and high academic standards provide an excellent base for students without a strong prior background in science. Following the foundation year, you progress to your chosen degree, which may be in Geology, Geophysics, Ocean Sciences, Geography and Oceanography, Marine Biology with Oceanography, or related combinations, all delivered at one of the UK's leading marine and earth science institutions. The programme includes a sandwich year and work placements alongside the option of a year abroad, giving you the professional and international experience that employers in the environmental and geoscience sectors value highly.
