Digital Media and Language

Digital media and language is a combination built on the recognition that the most effective communicators in the digital world are those who combine technical fluency with genuine linguistic and cultural competence. At Birkbeck College, this three-year, full-time BA allows you to combine digital media knowledge and practical skills with competency in one of French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish, exploring both the technical dimensions of digital practice and the cultural context of your chosen language. You will develop skills in digital content creation, media analysis, audience understanding, and the critical frameworks for evaluating how digital media operates in different cultural and political environments, alongside progressive development of your language abilities.
