About this course

Digital marketing and sport and physical education is a combination that reflects two of the fastest-growing areas of contemporary professional life. Digital marketing has transformed how organisations communicate with audiences and build relationships with consumers, while sport and physical education sit at the heart of some of the most commercially significant and socially important activities in contemporary culture. At Liverpool Hope University, the BA Digital Marketing and Sport and Physical Education is a three-year full-time programme that includes a sandwich year, a year abroad, and work placement, giving you extensive professional and international experience alongside a dual-discipline academic curriculum.

The digital marketing strand develops your understanding of how digital channels work and how marketing strategy is developed and executed across search, social media, content, email, and data analytics. Theory and practical application are combined, ensuring that your learning is both academically rigorous and relevant to the modern digital marketplace. The sport and physical education strand develops your knowledge of sport science, sports coaching, curriculum and pedagogical approaches to physical education, and the social and cultural dimensions of sport in contemporary society.

Together, the two strands create a distinctive professional profile that is particularly well suited to careers at the intersection of sport and commercial communication.

Graduates of this combination work in sports marketing, sports communications, digital content for sports organisations, sports sponsorship and partnerships, physical education and coaching, community sport development, and sports brand management. The growing digital presence of professional sports clubs, leagues, governing bodies, and sports brands creates consistent demand for professionals who understand both sport and digital marketing. The sandwich year and year abroad deepen your professional and international experience substantially.

Some graduates go on to postgraduate study in sports marketing, sports management, or digital marketing, while others move directly into professional roles where the combination of sports knowledge and digital marketing capability is a genuine competitive advantage.

I've grown so much academically and personally here. The best part: the careers office is relentless about getting you internships. If I'm honest, some seminar groups were too big for meaningful discussion. On the city β€” the city is a brill…
