About this course

Computing with a focus on security and reliability is a degree that addresses some of the most critical challenges in modern technology: how to build software systems that not only do what they are supposed to do, but do so reliably under all conditions and resist attack, misuse, and failure. Computing is a creative and wide-ranging discipline that uses sound underlying principles and logical thinking to design and build systems that really work. Security addresses the threats that arise when systems are connected, shared, and used in adversarial environments.

Reliability and verification examine how we can have justified confidence that complex systems will behave correctly.

At Imperial College London, this four-year programme is delivered by one of the world's leading institutions in computing and engineering. You will develop a thorough grounding in the core principles of computer science, including algorithms, data structures, programming languages, and software engineering, while also specialising in the security and reliability dimensions of the discipline.
