About this course

Computing science with cyber security combines the core discipline of computing with specialist knowledge in one of the most pressing challenges in modern technology. Cyber security is concerned with protecting computer systems, networks, and data from unauthorised access, disruption, and attack. As digital infrastructure has become central to every aspect of modern life, from financial systems and healthcare to critical national infrastructure and personal communication, the demand for professionals who understand both how computing systems work and how to defend them has grown substantially.

At the University of East Anglia this three-year full-time programme builds strong foundations in programming, algorithms, data structures, computer systems, software engineering, and networks, alongside specialist content in cyber security including cryptography, network security, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and security risk management. You will develop practical technical skills alongside theoretical understanding, working with real systems and tools used in the security industry.
