About this course

Computer science with game design sits at the junction of rigorous computing science and the creative and technical demands of interactive entertainment. Computer science provides the theoretical foundations: algorithms, data structures, software engineering, programming languages, and the mathematical principles that underpin computational systems. At Bangor University, this three-year full-time degree with a foundation year combines computing science fundamentals with a focus on game design, preparing you for careers that draw on both technical depth and creative application. The foundation year provides a supported entry point for students who need additional preparation in mathematics or computing before engaging with the main degree. As you progress through the programme you will develop expertise in programming, software architecture, and computing theory alongside the specialised skills of game development, including 2D and 3D graphics, sound integration, and the design of game systems and mechanics.
