About this course

Chemistry is the central science, providing the concepts and practical tools for understanding the composition, structure, properties, and transformations of matter. It underpins biology, medicine, materials science, environmental science, and much of modern industry, making chemists among the most versatile scientific graduates in the economy. Studying chemistry at degree level develops rigorous experimental and analytical thinking alongside knowledge of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry that is directly applicable in pharmaceutical, chemical, environmental, and materials research and production.

At the University of Lincoln this four-year full-time programme includes a science foundation year, designed for students who need to build or strengthen their scientific knowledge before progressing to the main chemistry degree.
