Celtic civilisation immerses you in the history, literature, material culture, art, and religion of the Celts from their origins on the European continent through to the modern British Isles. Italian opens access to one of the world's great literary and cultural traditions, from Dante to the Renaissance to contemporary Italian society.

At the University of Glasgow this five-year full-time programme allows you to develop both subjects with genuine depth, engaging with Celtic languages and texts at whatever level suits your background alongside Italian language study to a high level of proficiency. You will study the development of Celtic societies across time alongside Italian literature, culture, history, politics, and film, developing the cultural breadth and analytical skills that both disciplines demand. A sandwich year with a work placement is incorporated into the degree, providing professional experience alongside your academic development.
