About this course

Supply chains and project management are two of the most operationally critical disciplines in modern business. Supply chains determine how goods and services move from their origins to their destinations, and managing them well requires an understanding of logistics, procurement, risk, sustainability, and the global networks that underpin production and distribution. Project management provides the tools and frameworks to plan, execute, and deliver complex initiatives on time and within budget.

Together with a core grounding in business management, this degree at Salford equips you to lead in environments where operational excellence and strategic thinking must work together.

You will study the fundamentals of business management, including strategy, marketing, finance, and organisational behaviour, while developing specialist knowledge of supply chain operations and project management methodology. You will learn how to design and optimise supply chains, manage supplier relationships, respond to disruption, and apply project management frameworks in real commercial settings. The course is explicitly interdisciplinary, reflecting the reality that effective supply chain and project leadership requires people who can bridge commercial, operational, and human dimensions of a problem.

A year abroad is incorporated into the three-year programme, broadening your international perspective on the global supply chains you will be studying.

Graduates are well placed for careers in supply chain management, operations management, procurement, logistics, project management, and consultancy across a wide range of industries, from manufacturing and retail to healthcare, technology, and public services. The specialist combination of skills is particularly valued by large organisations with complex global operations and by consultancies that advise them. Postgraduate study in supply chain management, operations, or project management is a natural route for those wishing to deepen their expertise.
