About this course

Business with marketing is a degree that combines a broad grounding in how organisations are managed with a focused understanding of how they attract, serve, and retain customers. The success of any business lies in its ability to attract and retain customers and clientele, and marketing, now more than ever, has the ability to identify opportunities, drive profits, and enable businesses to stay relevant in a competitive and constantly evolving modern marketplace. A degree that combines these disciplines develops both commercial acumen and the specific strategic and creative skills of marketing practice.

At Birmingham City University, this three-year full-time programme develops your understanding of management, finance, operations, and strategy alongside marketing theory, consumer behaviour, digital marketing, and brand management. You will study how businesses are run and how they grow, with a particular emphasis on the marketing capabilities that drive commercial success in competitive markets. The programme equips you with both the analytical thinking to understand business performance and the creative and strategic abilities to develop and communicate compelling propositions to customers.

Entry typically requires around 120 UCAS tariff points.

Graduates work in marketing management, brand management, product management, market research, digital marketing, public relations, business development, and a wide range of commercial roles across every sector of the economy. The combination of general business knowledge with marketing expertise makes graduates adaptable and competitive in the job market. Many also continue to postgraduate study in marketing, business, or management.

The course has exceeded my expectations. The best part: the course strikes a good balance between theory and practical application. If I'm honest, first-year classes can be quite large. On the city β€” the city is a brilliant student city wit…
