About this course

Business management with marketing is a degree that places the disciplines of organisational leadership and strategic communication at the centre of your studies, preparing you for the reality that in any business the functions of managing people, resources and operations are inseparable from the challenge of understanding customers, building relationships and communicating value. Marketing is not simply advertising: it encompasses market research, consumer behaviour, brand strategy, product development, digital communication and the data-driven analysis of how businesses can reach and retain the audiences they need.

At the University of Leeds, this three-year full-time degree develops your knowledge of management and marketing in depth, covering strategy, finance, operations, organisational behaviour and leadership alongside the full range of marketing disciplines. The programme is designed for students who understand that contemporary business leadership requires agility in the face of economic uncertainty, supply chain disruption and the rapid digitalisation of working practices. A sandwich year with work placement opportunities is built in, giving you extended professional experience before you graduate, and a year abroad option allows you to study at an international partner institution and develop the global perspective that modern business demands.

Typical entry is around 152 UCAS tariff points.

Graduates from business management with marketing programmes go on to careers in marketing, brand management, digital marketing, market research, management consultancy, sales, product management and general business roles across every sector. Many move into agency or in-house marketing teams, while others use the management component of the degree as a platform for broader commercial roles. The combination of strategic thinking and practical marketing competence is widely valued by employers.

Further study in marketing, business administration or digital strategy is available for those who wish to specialise.

Genuinely worthwhile
The programme genuinely lives up to its reputation. The best part: small-group tutorials really push your thinking. If I'm honest, accommodation allocation was stressful in the first year. On the city β€” the city is a brilliant student city …

Would do it again
I was sceptical before starting β€” now I'd recommend it to anyone. The best part: the course strikes a good balance between theory and practical application. If I'm honest, would like to see more industry guest speakers in later years. On th…
