About this course

Business management with a specialism in marketing brings together the broad analytical foundations of management education with a deep focus on one of its most commercially critical functions. Marketing is the discipline through which organisations understand their customers, develop products and services that meet their needs, communicate their value, and build the relationships that sustain long-term performance. In a competitive economy where consumer expectations are constantly shifting and digital channels are transforming how brands reach their audiences, marketing expertise has never been more commercially significant.

At Cardiff University, this three-year full-time programme gives you a thorough grounding in business management disciplines including finance, strategy, operations, and human resources, while developing particular depth in marketing theory and practice. You will study consumer behaviour, market research, brand management, digital and social media marketing, marketing communications, and strategic marketing analysis. Cardiff's business school has a strong reputation, and its location in a capital city with a vibrant commercial and cultural scene provides a stimulating context for developing marketing knowledge.

Graduates are well placed for careers in marketing management, digital marketing, brand management, advertising, market research, public relations, content strategy, and general management roles across a wide range of industries. The Chartered Institute of Marketing recognises degree-level study in marketing as contributing to professional membership, and many graduates pursue further professional qualifications alongside their careers. Further study in marketing, business, or digital communications is open to graduates who wish to specialise or move into research.

Exceeded expectations
Honestly, one of the best decisions I've made. The best part: case-based teaching forces you to think commercially. If I'm honest, would like to see more industry guest speakers in later years. On the city β€” good transport links make it eas…

Solid, with caveats
There's a lot to love, but it's not without its flaws. The best part: the teaching staff are genuinely world-class and accessible. If I'm honest, the timetable has some awkward 9am / Friday afternoon slots. On the city β€” local cost of livin…
