Business enterprise is a discipline centred on the practical realities of creating, running, and growing organisations. At University College Birmingham this three-year full-time degree includes a sandwich year, giving you the chance to spend an extended period working in a business environment before your final year. This placement experience is central to the enterprise approach: you test your understanding against real commercial problems, build professional relationships, and come back to your studies with a much sharper sense of how theory applies in practice. Alongside the placement, you will explore topics such as idea generation and opportunity recognition, business planning, financial management, marketing strategy, operations, and the legal and regulatory context in which businesses operate.
