Biomedical scientists work in NHS and private hospital laboratories, applying techniques in clinical biochemistry, haematology, medical microbiology, histopathology, immunology and blood transfusion to analyse samples from patients and produce accurate, timely results. It is a discipline that combines deep scientific knowledge with the precision and quality standards required in a clinical setting.

At Northumbria University, this programme is studied part-time, making it accessible to students who wish to develop their knowledge alongside work or other commitments, including those already working in healthcare settings in support roles.
