Biomedical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering principles and methods to problems in medicine and biology, developing the devices, systems, and technologies that support modern healthcare. At the University of Strathclyde, this four-year full-time degree develops a strong engineering foundation alongside the life science knowledge needed to work in medical and biological contexts. You will study engineering mathematics, mechanics, electronics, materials, and signal processing alongside physiology, anatomy, and the biological principles that underpin medical device design and clinical application.
