About this course

Biomedical engineering applies the principles of engineering to problems in medicine and biology, designing and developing the devices, instruments, and systems that diagnose, monitor, and treat disease. It is a discipline that sits at the intersection of engineering, biology, and medicine, and it has produced some of the most impactful technologies in modern healthcare, from MRI scanners and pacemakers to prosthetics, implantable sensors, and drug delivery systems. At the University of Bradford, this three-year, full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing a structured introduction to the scientific and mathematical foundations of the discipline for students who benefit from additional preparation before entering the main degree.
