Biological Sciences

Biological sciences at Warwick is the study of biology in its broadest sense, from the smallest molecules to large populations, and of the four degree courses taught by the School of Life Sciences, this is the widest ranging and most flexible in terms of module choice. You will study the molecules and cells that are the basis of life through to the biology of organisms, including animals, plants, bacteria, and viruses, and on to populations and the processes of evolution, epidemiology of disease, and ecosystems. This breadth means you can engage with the full spectrum of biological understanding and develop genuine expertise in the areas that interest you most.

At the University of Warwick, this three-year full-time programme is taught within a research-active life sciences school at a research-intensive Russell Group university, ensuring that the teaching is informed by current scientific thinking and that you have access to the research culture and facilities that biological sciences careers require. You will develop both theoretical understanding of biological principles and practical laboratory skills across the core areas of the discipline, with the flexibility to pursue specialist interests in your second and third years through the wide range of module options the programme offers.
