About this course

Biological science is the study of living organisms in all their diversity, from the molecular mechanisms that govern cell function to the ecological relationships that shape entire ecosystems. It is the foundational discipline behind medicine, agriculture, environmental management, biotechnology and public health, and it addresses some of the most pressing questions facing humanity, including how to respond to emerging diseases, how to feed a growing world population, and how to protect the biodiversity on which all life depends.

At the University of Bedfordshire this four-year full-time programme is designed for students who need a preparatory stage before beginning the main degree curriculum, providing a foundation year that builds the scientific and academic skills needed to succeed.
