About this course

Explore the molecular level of life functions and the applications of biotechnology, with options for a placement or year abroad. The MSci Biochemistry and Biotechnology is a four-year degree, extendable to five with an optional year in placement or abroad. You’ll secure a strong understanding of how the processes of life function at molecular level and how biotechnology is addressing real-world problems and challenges.

By studying an integrated course, you’ll start at undergraduate level and graduate with a Masters-level qualification. The MSci Biochemistry and Biotechnology lets you explore molecular enzymology, neurodegeneration, structural biology and bioenergetics. You’ll also appraise the approaches that can be used to address the challenges currently facing our planet, such as biofuels, industrial and medical biotechnology, and bioinformatics.
