About this course

Aerospace engineering is concerned with the design, development, and operation of aircraft and spacecraft, and with the science and technology that make flight possible. It encompasses aerodynamics, structural mechanics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and systems engineering, drawing on physics, mathematics, and engineering principles to address the extraordinary technical challenges of designing vehicles that must perform reliably in extreme conditions. This four-year, full-time programme at Swansea includes a foundation year that gives students who need it a thorough grounding in the scientific and mathematical foundations before entering the main degree content, ensuring a well-prepared starting point for the technical demands of the programme.
