Acting and Psychology

Acting and psychology is a combination that brings together two disciplines deeply concerned with human behaviour, motivation, and inner life. Acting trains you to inhabit other people's experiences with conviction, developing the physical, vocal, and imaginative skills to bring characters to life on stage and screen. Psychology provides the scientific understanding of how human beings think, feel, and behave, examining perception, emotion, personality, social influence, and mental processes through empirical research.

At Liverpool Hope University this four-year full-time programme includes a foundation year, providing the academic preparation needed before entering the main degree. You will develop your acting skills through intensive practical training, performance workshops, and directed production work, building the technical and creative capabilities that professional performance demands.
