Our materials department was the first in the UK, and studying with us means learning from a team with deep expertise in both research and industry. Our work influences a wide range of innovations - from the design of Formula 1 tyres to the composites used in aeroplanes and luggage. We’re proud to be home to several fellows of the Royal Society and the Royal Academy of Engineering. You ’ ll build a strong understanding of fundamental engineering concepts such as mechanics, design, materials and mathematical modelling. At the same time, you ’ ll develop the practical, collaborative skills all engineers need.
