It defines rights and obligations, provides mechanisms for resolving disputes, and sets the conditions within which commerce, government and social life operate. Studying law develops the capacity for close reading, logical argument and precise expression that is valuable across almost every professional field, and a law degree from a strong institution prepares you both for legal practice and for the many other careers in which legal reasoning is an asset. At Queen's University Belfast, this three-year full-time LLB covers both private and public law alongside wider socio-legal perspectives.
