Geography is the science of place, concerned with the physical processes that shape landscapes and the human decisions that shape how those landscapes are inhabited, contested, and transformed. It sits at the boundary between natural and social science, asking how climate systems, river networks, and soils interact with urbanisation, migration, economic development, and political power. That breadth is one of geography's defining strengths: geographers are trained to think across disciplinary boundaries and to bring different kinds of evidence to bear on complex questions.
