About this course
Clarity helps us to understand our usersβ behaviour by visually representing their clicks, taps and scrolling. All data is anonymised. The study of history is the study of change and continuity in human society through time. Scottish history is the study of Scotlandβs past. Scottish History at Glasgow boasts renowned researchers at the cutting edge of the discipline across all periods, from medieval to modern. The Centre for Scottish & Celtic Studies at Glasgow addresses Scottish history in a genuinely cross-disciplinary environment and students are encouraged to get involved. You will take two core courses in history, one of which introduces you to the history of Scotland. History 1A and 1B provide core knowledge for Honours study, incorporating the latest research by Glasgow historians. History 1A will reveal the dynamism of the Middle Ages through the study of themes like cross-cultural interactions, religious conversion and women and gender. History 1B will ask what it means to be modern by exploring forces of change, such as early modern empires; enlightenment and revolution; race and migration; and industrialisation and the environment.
